Music from the Van

The Gypsy Van is more than just a band. It is more than music, more than sarcasm and ingenious VANtastic puns. The Gypsy Van is on a journey to change the world.

It is insane that 25,000 people die every day due to hunger causes poverty, but here in the United States we have mega-stores with shelves full of things like dog food diet. That’s just crazy. We think we are so civilized, but our apathy is barbaric.

So how can we change things?

The first step is the public. The news networks break into regular programming for the confinement or rehabilitation latest spoiled rich girl, but where are the breaking news stories about people who die every 3.6 seconds, just because they are hungry? Where are the TV specials and newspaper articles? Not the hungry and poor deserve some airtime?

Unfortunately the media only shows what people want to hear, and is currently not enough people care about. So how can you make a difference? There are many large organizations there to give you money, and a percentage of profits to The Gypsy From a number of them.

A quick Google will be many options you can check out. We will not get on a soapbox and brag about what we do behind the scenes, but just giving money is not the answer. We need to join – Hands on! Maybe you can not travel to Africa to help build an orphanage, but there are needy families in your neighborhood? Think not?

Did you know that thousands of children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night? It is time to do anything! Is there a homeless shelter you could volunteer to help? A food pantry you could help? Changing what we do to change how we think.

Get involved.

Make some noise by making a difference, and then spread the news. The world does not need another charity concert or another rock star on stage. The world needs you to believe that everything can and will change.

That is what The Gypsy Van trip is everything – just like the people we should be decent. We are just crazy enough to think that together we can change things. We make music because it’s what we love, and we hope that our music. Rock out! We have a great time creating this stuff and not try to all Debbie Downer on you! We roll with a goal, but that does not mean we will not have a great time all along the road.
